TEACHING WRITING PROCEDURE TEXT USING JIGSAW TECHNIQUE AT THE TENTH GRADE OF SMK PGRI 2 KARAWANG

ABSTRACT

 

This research is intended to improve the condition of teaching learning process for English teacher. There are some condition which did not support teaching process such as  less using of English language for the students, the students have low motivation to study English.In this case the writer did research through Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach which applied the seven main components. but this researchfocus on learning community using Jigsaw Technique. The main objective of this research is to know the effectiveness of Jigsaw technique to improve students ability in writing procedure text. The research method used quantitative research, or more specifically the quasi experimental design with the pretest-posttest, and treatment to know is there any different between control group and experimental group design which consist of two classes (60 students) as the sample and test as the instrument. The result of the data analysis showed that: mean score of experimental group is 14,77, mean of control group was 7,57, and the asymp sig (2-tailed) was 0 ,000 is smaller than 0,05. In other words there is a significant improvement in students writing ability after being taught by using Jigsaw technique. So the alternative hypothesis is CTL approach using Jigsaw technique can improve students ability in writing procedure text was accepted.
